iDebate Club was founded to make debate education accessible to students everywhere. Our team of experienced debaters and educators crafts each lecture to inspire and teach. We believe debate is more than a skill; it’s a way to build confidence and critical thinking. Since starting, we’ve grown into a global community of learners passionate about argumentation. Our Members
Lawrence Zhong
Lawrence is in 7th grade, and is experienced in the World Schools and Public Forum debate formats. He has roughly 3 years of debate experience, and knows how to generate and defend your own logical and strong arguments in debate.
Leo Qian
Leo is a 6th grader who is experienced in various debate formats, including World Schools Debate, Briitsh Parliamentary Debate, and Lincoln-Douglas Debate. He can also formulate strong rebuttals and knows how to effectively counter opponents.
Tom Mei
Tom is a 7th grade student who has 3 years of debate experience with debate formats such as World Schools Debate and British Parliamentary Debate. He is the most comfortable with World Schools, since he has participated in many competitions.

What do I need to join a lecture?
You need the VooV (Tencent Meeting) app installed on your device (computer, tablet, or phone). Download it here. A stable internet connection and headphones are recommended for the best experience.
Can I skip lectures or start with Lectures 2, 3, or 4?
Yes, you can join any lecture (Introduction, Arguments, Rebuttal, or Speech Delivery) directly if you feel that the earlier ones aren’t needed. Click here for credentials and choose the lecture that suits your skill level.
Do I need prior debating experience?

Do I need to speak fluent English?
Very fluent English isn’t required, but a basic to medium English level is recommended to follow our lectures. Key terms are explained clearly, and our team supports all learners.
What are the technical requirements for joining?
You need a device with VooV (Tencent Meeting) installed, a stable internet connection, and a microphone for participation. A webcam is optional but enhances interaction.
What is the format of the lectures?
Each lecture is a 50-70 minute live session led by our team, covering debate skills through presentations and interactive exercises.
Is iDebate Club suitable for any age?
Our lectures are mainly designed for middle school students (ages 11–14), but we are open to anyone interested in debate.
How often are lectures held, and how do I know the schedule?
